We spent a lot of time in our youth playing games like Sword of Vermilion, Final Fantasy III, and Super Mario RPG. The 16-bit RPG, once a big part of our gaming lives, seemed like a lost art...but a small team called WaterMelon is looking to change that with this tasty game. Pier Solar has been developed from start to finish as a classic 16-bit RPG, with not a single sprite taken from another source. We can't wait to see how it turns out.

Pier Solar boasts some impressive numbers: 50 hours of gameplay, 300 locations, and 800 unique NPCs to name a few, and they're all made even more impressive when you consider the 16-bit coat of paint that surrounds it all. We've been waiting for a retro RPG to knock our socks off, and it looks like we'll get our wish soon enough.
