Hong Kong, 30 August 2018 – International eSports team, Aerowolf.ADS, a professional team of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) athletes signed by global streaming giant Nimo TV, secured a spot in the top five of the Hong Kong PUBG World Invitational last weekend.
The players, comprising Ryan “superNayr” Prakasha as Carry, Sheldon “NcSlasher” Andersen as Support, Ridho “Awkarinnnn/RDK” Dwiki Sena as Support and Andreas “ndrev1ce” Dharmawan as the Leader, had previously competed in several Southeast Asian PUBG tournaments, and recently came in tops at the Run N Gun 4 Nations Season 2 in April, and the CPL PUBG Championship SEA held on 11 June in Singapore.
Their invitation to the Hong Kong PUBG World Invitational came after the team took home the championship at the Indonesia Regional Circle of Champions 2018. Over the weekend, 16 teams from Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, China, North America, South Korea and Taiwan battled it out for a shot at the US$150,000 prize pool, touted as the biggest prize pool in Asia.
In the end, Aerowolf ADS scored a total of 2475 points to come in fifth, after teams from North America, Netherlands and South Korea. Aerowolf ADS beat fan favourites, including Oh My God from China, and Team SoloMid from North America.
According to team captain ndrev1ce, the quartet prepared very well for the big event by studying their opponent’s movement and habits, but the results ultimately boiled down to luck.
Still, the four are not surrendering their weapons, as they intend to achieve greater squad goals by competing in more PUBG teams, and hope that the regional achievements obtained this month can drive interest in PUBG E-Sports in Indonesia, and spur more Indonesian PUBG teams to fight for Indonesia.
Dharmawan said: “This was our first time competing at a big and reputable competition like Hong Kong PUBG World Invitational and are believed to earn better achievement than top five of the best international eSports teams in Asia. We are also especially grateful for Nimo TV to give us a platform to do what we love. The team is determined to fight harder and give the best in the next round.”
