Starting from today, PUBG has officially launched on the platform in three regions, NA, SA and Europe. And this has only been possible with both FACEIT and PUBG Corp. working together to make it happen.Beta for PUBG on FACEIT started in the mid of August and a total of 200,000 players have signed up as we speak.

FACEIT’s CEO had the following to say in this regards:

“Whilst we anticipated high levels of success with the closed beta, we were blown away by the positive feedback and the number of sign-ups. The integration we developed with PUBG allows players to be in a match within seconds and we’re excited to welcome everyone on the platform to jump in and experience our competitive battleground. PUBG is continually proving its fierce potential as an esport, and we’re thrilled to be a part of that exciting journey by offering players unprecedented opportunities to develop their skills.”

This integration comes with a progression system that allow players to participate in leagues and level up as per their skill. Along the way, players get to earn FACEIT points that can be used to get in-game items for PUBG.

PUBG’s Head of Business Development added:

“The FACEIT integration offers our community a uniquely competitive framework to play PUBG at a level they haven’t experienced before. The closed beta proved the value of our partnership, and we can’t wait to watch the competitive scene develop further.”
This comes as a really big move for PUBG. The game has previously been taking baby steps towards the road of being a notable esports title. While there have been various events pushing the game’s competitive side something this big is the first of its kind for PUBG.

UPDATE

PUBG players on PC can now enjoy region-locked, custom-server matchmaking via FACEIT . Following a successful beta in August, everyone can get a taste of what it feels like to play a tournament-level battle royale match. The news was announced via an official PUBG Corporation blog post Thursday afternoon.

The purpose of FACEIT integration with PUBG is to offer fans a third-party option for highly competitive play. Servers are matched outside the game’s traditional matchmaking system, and they put teams into custom lobbies with only the most skilled players locked to your region. PUBG is about to get its own ranking system in its next big update, but FACEIT has the benefit of being a trusted esports platform. As such, ranks are determined using competitive rules. In other words, if you want to know what it feels like to be Shroud competing for a $1 million prize pool, FACEIT is probably the best way to find out.

There are, of course, other benefits beyond curating high-level players. Keeping in line with the service’s competitive spirit, there are also free tournaments for all and paid tournaments for FACEIT Premium subscribers. The first of many challenges allows the first player to reach 338 Chicken Dinners the chance to win a Fiat 500 car.

If that’s still not enough to entice you, those who partiated in the FACEIT beta found its server performance to be superior to standard matchmaking as well. That might change now that everyone can play, but if it holds true it’s an obvious advantage. FACEIT’s region locking should also severely reduce the appearance of hackers too. The process for joining a FACEIT match in PUBG is a little clunky because it uses a third-party platform. Here’s what you need to do.

How to Join a FACEIT ‘PUBG’ Server

-Go to the FACEIT website and sign up for an account if you don’t have one already.
-Once you’re in the main dashboard, select PUBG and press the “play” button.
-Matchmaking will begin, and it may take a while in the hours after launch.
-Once you’re in a server, make note of its Private Lobby Name and Password.
-Start a PUBG Custom Match and paste the Lobby Name into the search box.
-When prompted, type the short Password.
-You’ll be matched into the lobby and you can play PUBG as normal. All stats will be recorded for your overall rank.
