Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+ phones officially announced to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and up to 24GB RAM

The Red Magic 9 Pro and Pro+, which sport some of the most amazing specs for a gaming phone to date, are now officially available under ZTE's Nubia brand. The newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, elegant designs, RGB cooling fans, and shoulder keys are all included in these two new gadgets.

Display​

The two variants boast a 6.8-inch BOE flat AMOLED panels, which have a resolution of 1,116 x 2,480 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and elegant bezels that conceal the 16MP front-facing camera that is incorporated beneath the screen. Both devices include displays with a maximum brightness rating of 1,600 nits with 2,160Hz Pulse Width Modulation dimming to prevent eye strain. A UD fingerprint reader that also functions as a heart rate monitor is present.

Storage and Cooling System​

Red Magic 9 Pro+ comes with up to 1TB of storage and may be configured with 16/24GB of RAM. In contrast, Red Magic 9 comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256/512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The ICE 13 cooling system, which has been improved, is present in both phones and now spans 10,182mm2. The upgraded cooling system includes a graphene layer beneath the screen and a bigger air duct for improved airflow, with the claimed ability to reduce the phone's operating temperature by up to 18°. The device's fan now rotates at 22,000 RPM and has a 30% better heat conductivity.

Rear Camera​

Every Red Magic 9 Pro model has an entirely flat glass back with no protruding camera sensors, and aircraft-grade aluminum frames. The camera section has a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 50MP primary shooter built on Samsung's GN5 sensor with OIS. Based on Android 14, Red Magic OS 9.0 manages the software division.

Battery and Charging​

The Red Magic 9 has a 6,500 mAh battery with 80W wired charging, while the 9 Pro+ has a smaller 5,500 mAh battery that supports 165W fast charging. These are the main battery capacity and charging speed differences between the two phones. Both phones also have an IR blaster, a headphone port, and Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 7 connection.

The hues of these phones are translucent black, white, and black. Red Magic 9 Pro's standard 8/256GB variant costs CNY 4,399 (roughly PHP 34,000), while the translucent 12/512GB version costs CNY 5,399 (roughly PHP 42,000). The 16/256GB variant of the Red Magic 9 Pro+ costs CNY 5,499 (HPP 43,000), while the 24GB RAM and 1TB variant costs CNY 6,999 (roughly PHP 55,000). On November 28, open sales will begin in China; information about worldwide pricing and availability will be provided later.
