Riot Games signals strong PH presence with fully booked first on-ground event

No unpredictable weather can stop gamers and animé fans from supporting Riot Games’ first on-ground event in the Philippines this year.

The presence of cosplayers made Riot Games’ Star Guardian Art School even more exciting and colorful.

Riot Games, the global gaming company behind League of Legends and VALORANT, marked a milestone in its local operations, as they successfully held the Star Guardian Art School event at the Moon Rabbit Café in San Juan City, Metro Manila. The magical experience filled with immersive on-ground activities received massive support and positive reviews from ardent Filipino gamers and animé fans.

Despite the strong monsoon rain, there was no stopping fans from showing up to support their beloved game at the “reservation-only” three-day event, held from July 29 to 31, 2022. The event was fully booked across all three days with guests hoping to experience the activities and workshops. The Philippine event coincides with Star Guardian’s global efforts of 10-week in-game content and out-of-game events.

The Star Guardian Art School brought to life Riot Games’ tribute to the magical girl (mahō shōjo) anime genre with an academy-like setting featuring interactive stations that allowed guests to learn hydro-dripping and create tote bags inspired by Star Guardian, a vibrant alternative universe that centers on a young cast of champions who navigate school relationships by day and the responsibilities of magical warriors at night.

As part of the experience, guests also learned to DIY (do-it-yourself) creative badges at the Button Badge Maker station and showcased their artworks at the Fan Art bulletin board. A Cinematic Viewing area was also set up where fans can watch the Star Guardian and their music videos. The event also featured a photo zone where guests can take pictures with the Star Guardian squad display. To end the event on a ‘sweet’ note, visitors got to savour exclusive themed drinks like the cosmic colour changing Starstruck Lemonade.
