Rise of the Phoenix: FPX wins LoL World Championship

Against the deafening cheers from the home crowd of their opponents, FunPlus Phoenix burned right through G2 Esports as they dominated the EU favorites winning in a commanding 3-0 sweep to hoist the Summoners Cup and become the 2019 World Champions.

Everyone though that the World Finals would be a close fight, but FPX manhandled G2 Esports, proving to the world that China is not a region that only looks to teamfight. FPX showed the best macro game in the tournament. FPX jungler, Gao "Tian" Tian-Liang was everywhere in the map, helping his teammates securing early leads and invading the enemy jungle. G2 jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski was not able to keep up with the pace Tian was setting, failing to countergank and help his lanes. FPX support, Liu "Crisp" Qing-Song took early roams in the midlane, contributing kills to his midlaner, Kim "Doinb" Tae-sang to snowball him in the lane. While FPX ADC, Lin "LWX" Wei-Xiang showed everyone how to properly position in teamfights, as he went 21/0/14 on the whole series. Not dying once in a teamfight or even in lane.

After the games, Gao "Tian" Tian-Liang was named MVP of this series. And in an interview, when LWX was asked why he thinks his team was better than G2, LWX said he didnt think that they, themselves, played to that high of a level or that their play was that special. Rather yet, the way their opponents played was unacceptable / unpassable.

With this win, LPL has now won two consecutive world championship, and with the 2020 LoL World Championship set to happen in Shanghai, LPL is now poised to once again contend for the title and become the most dominant region of this LoL era.
