RSG is going to expand its network in the Philippines

RSG, a Singapore-based company, announced on Friday, June 9 that it will be expanding into the Philippines. With a teaser on a new Facebook page for their Philippine office, RSG announced their arrival into one of the most important nations in the Southeast Asian esports industry.

In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Call of Duty Mobile, WarCraft III Reforged, Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and ERacing, RSG presently fields eight teams.

While the organization has not announced which esports championship their new Filipino team would compete in, it is expected that they will field a third Filipino MLBB roster to join their existing Singaporean and Malaysian squads.

RSG has had a lot of success in MLBB this year, with their Malaysian team winning the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 7 and their Singaporean team finishing second in the MPL Singapore inaugural season.

If RSG does field a new Filipino MLBB roster for the MPL Philippines' ninth season, it will be the second foreign organization to do so, after EVOS Esports' return to the nation in June with a historic cooperation with local club Nexplay Esports. The organization, which was formerly known as Resurgence, changed its name to RSG in November of last year in order to keep up with the rapidly developing esports industry in Southeast Asia.

Last 18th of November, the organization unveiled its new identity on its official Facebook page. The organization claimed in a statement that the "new name, logo ("Respect All. Fear None"), website, and squad jerseys are to better match the company's marketing collaterals with RSG's position, products, and vision."

RSG founder and CEO Jayf Soh, who founded the company in 2017, said, "The branding represents our on-going dedication to innovate and adapt ahead of the pulse of the esports landscape." “We started with a purpose to empower and nurture prospective players in Singapore by providing chances for long-term esports careers.”

RSG is most known for their Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team, which has had a fantastic year thus far. In May, the squad won the MPL MY/SG Season 5 title, then finished second in the MPL Invitational 4 Nations Cup in July. RSG's MLBB squad has now finished in the Top 4 in MPL MY/SG for four consecutive seasons, finishing 4th in Season 3 and 3rd in Season 4 last year, 1st in Season 5, and 4th in Season 6.
