Witness the epic face-off between personalities in an epic two-day Legends of Runeterra tournament. Rumble Royale and Riot Games Southeast Asia today announced the Legends of Runeterra: Targon Showdown Philippines, which will feature Rumble Royale talents and members of the Legend of Runeterra community, and take place from September 12 to 13, 2020.
The Legends of Runeterra: Targon Showdown Philippines will showcase the latest Call of the Mountain expansion, which introduces the new region of Targon and 89 collectible cards, including seven champions. In partnership with Riot Games Southeast Asia, Rumble Royale aims for the showdown to showcase the skills and passion of the LoR community, giving creators and fans a spotlight in the ever-growing strategy card game scene.
The showdown will feature both Rumble Royale influencers and members of the LoR community, who will battle it out for glory and a total prize pool of USD $1,000. The following personalities will participate in the tournament:
Day 1 of the tournament will feature a Swiss format, where participants will compete to earn points and race to get the highest percentage. It will consist of five rounds and each match will be a best of three format. All matches will be in Conquest format with three decks and one ban, which means the winning player must change their deck after each match and must win with two of their decks to win the series. The top eight players will advance to tournament Day 2, on the following day.
Day 2’s format will be a single elimination bracket in a best of three match. The Conquest format will still apply, but with an added condition that prevents the use of any winning decks in a match. The Legends of Runeterra: Targon Showdown Philippines will be livestreamed on the official Rumble Royale Facebook page from September 12 to 13, 2020.
