[5 October, Manila] Singapore’s Team Tamago took home PHP 300,000 (USD $5,500) and secured their spot in the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2018 after they claimed victory against the top teams from Malaysia and the Philippines at the Valor Cup Season 3 Grand Finals last weekend in Ayala Malls Circuit Makati Activity Center in the Philippines.

Valor Cup Season 3 Grand Finals saw the top 4 teams in the server battling it out in jaw-clenching matches. The top 4 teams in the Grand Finals consisted of long-term rivals Resurgence from Malaysia and Tamago from Singapore, and first-timers Bren Esports and MaxBox Gaming from the Philippines.

In a Best-of-5 semifinals, Tamago defeated Bren Esports 3 to 1 after a long and intense 30-minute match. Meanwhile, Maxbox Gaming also conquered Malaysian Team Resurgence by the same scoreline. Both Tamago and MaxBox Gaming secured their spots in the Finals with only one loss under their belts.

The finals between Tamago and MaxBox Gaming took a surprise turn when the 2 main players from Team Tamago, Tainted1s and Jason, picked Zill, Murad and Yorn respectively to counter the draft picks of MaxBox Gaming.

They wasted no time and clenched victory after quickly disarming the Philippines’ National Champion to get clean sweep of 4-0. This is Team Tamago’s first trophy in Valor Cup and their second big win in 2018, with AOV Glory Cup being their first win as champions.

Valor Cup Season 3 is a regional tournament between Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines to find the best AOV team to represent the Valiant Server in Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2018. AIC is scheduled to take place in late 2018, and will have a total prize pool of USD $550,000.
