Team Secret Wild Rift roster disbandment

Global esports organization Team Secret revealed it was letting go of its Pinoy League of Legends: Wild Rift lineup more than a year after first stepping foot in the Philippines.

The squad, which was at the forefront of putting the Pinoy Wild Rift scene on the map in the game's heyday, will be parting ways with Eleazar “Azar” Salle, Robert “Trebor” Mansilungan, Heri “Tatsurii” Garcia, Caster “Chewy” Dela Cruz, and James “Hamezz” Santos.

The Wild Rift: Horizon Cup was originally introduced in Singapore in 2021, and Team Secret was the first Philippine team to compete on the international arena.

They also met for the first time at the tournament because pandemic restrictions prevented them from traveling to other tournaments.

The European organization made its entrance into the Philippine esports scene with their debut, along with Valorant's esports team.

They were unable to compete in the first world championships, Icons, which were also held in Singapore, despite their breakthrough performance in 2021.

With the exception of Hamez, who arrived a few months earlier, the majority of the team was constructed in the early months of 2021. Jordan "Raux" Pamintuan played for the organization for a brief period of time as well, filling in as the backup player until his departure in July of last year. Team Secret Wild Rift got out to a fast start, placing in the top three of several regional C- and B-tier competitions, such as the SEA Icon Series and PPGL. Their abilities were soon displayed outside of the nation. They reached the Horizon Cup 2021 semifinals and placed second in the SEA Championship 2021.

Team Secret announced the availability of their Wild Rift lineup via a Facebook post.

The post's description said, "It was a difficult choice, but we have chosen to say goodbye to our Wild Rift Squad." "I want to thank all of the supporters who never gave up on the lads. We only have the finest intentions for our players. ”

As of the time of writing, no news yet about the next destination of these players have been confirmed.
