Tencent's Honor of Kings, the top-grossing mobile game for January 2021

Tencent's Honor of Kings ascended to number 1 as it is the top-grossing mobile game worldwide as of January 2021.

Sensor Tower provided a list of the top mobile games worldwide and with a revenue of $267.3 million that is spent by players, Honor of Kings was reigned number one. This shows a growth by almost 22% from January 2020. The game mostly generated 97% of its revenue from China and Thailand contributed 1% of it.

The second top-grossing game is PUBG Mobile which earned $259 million and recorded a growth of 26% compared to January 2020. 60% of its revenue came from China where the game is well known as Game for Peace and the United States chipped in 9.8%. PUBG Mobile is also distributed by Tencent.

The third top-earner is Fate/Grand Order by Sony's Aniplex followed by Genshin Impact from miHoYo and completing the top 5 highest grossing games is Roblox from Roblox Corporation.

A new entrant to the overall top 10 grossing mobile games for January is Professional Baseball Spirits A from Konami. Raking a revenue amounting to $112.5 million, it recorded a more than three times increase from January 2020. By January 31, 2021, it's lifetime revenue already reached $1.3 billion, accounting for all its player spending from Japan.
