In case you haven’t played any of these games, The Evil Within was released back in 2014 and it was directed by Shinji Mikami, who’s known for creating the Resident Evil series. After the launch, the game was commended for its visuals, atmosphere, and gameplay. However, it also received criticism because of its story and characters. The game has five difficulty modes, a crafting system, and a customization system that players can use to upgrade Sebastian’s abilities and weapons. To expand the story and gameplay, The Evil Within has three DLCs that players can avail.

On the other hand, The Evil Within 2 was released in 2017 and it was directed by John Johanas, who worked on the DLCs of the first game. The second installment was well-received by players that it generated positive reviews from them because of the improved aspects from the first game, like the map design, the stealth mechanics, and the narrative. A first-person perspective option is also included through a free update. Sebastian’s journey continues as he tries to rescue his daughter from the world of Union, a new STEM environment.

If your interest is now piqued, you can get the games on the Epic Game Store for free. Unfortunately, The Evil Within ended its availability yesterday but you can still get The Evil Within 2 as it is still available to obtain for free until November 2. Just make sure you have an Epic Games account so that you can claim the game.
