The time has come for the official announcement of the 1.2 update for Genshin Impact with the developers showing us what they have crafted for the next big patch of Genshin Impact, let's see what they have in store for us as we embark on a journey in the mountains of Dragonspine.
From various events, new characters, and things to look forward to, I say that we need to get to them one by one in order to see what's in store for us!
Characters
I hope you had enough time gathering your primogems as the next banners will feature both waifu and husbando characters in the game, we do not know who comes first or last but better get ready just in case you'd want them both in your adventures.
First is Albedo, he is a 5-star Geo Sword user who is known to be the Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius, with Sucrose as his assistant, he will play a pivotal role when the events at Dragonspine start to happen.
For another 5-star, you have known her if you have finished the Liyue Archon Storyline, presenting the "Cocogoat" meme, Ganyu! She will be a 5-star Cryo Bow user who has the power over charged shots and an elemental burst that rains down icicles over an area inflicting Cryo damage, while a lot of the meta players of the game have disregarded her potential in the game, naming her as the Cryo Amber, who knows if she can bring something strong in the table, remember, there are no weak characters in the game, and all can be powerful when built correctly, as such, I will be pulling for her soon!
There is no news for the 4-stars that will arrive in the game, however, there are rumors that Rosaria, a character with red hair has been featured and there are chances of her being in the game soon. People are hopeful that she will be added since she has caught the attention of the players of the game, myself included.
Events
Of course, there will be events that will run over the course of the game, these events will keep us interested when we have finished the main storyline, which you got to admit, a lot of us would have finished it when it arrives on the 23rd.
First, we'll talk about the main thing, the Chalk Price and the Dragon, this event will follow the event pattern of the Unreconciled Stars event in which it will be divided into 4 parts this time than 3 parts, you will need to collect essences to various items, such as a Crown of Sagehood which is sought of since you will need it in the talents of your favorite characters. Not to mention, a new sword, but we can discuss said sword later on.
Next, there will be a rerun of the Marvelous Merchandise event which is fine for more primogems, while not a lot are fans of this event, it still gives free primogems as long as you play it, might as well go with it right?
It seems that there will be also a treasure hunting event in which a Seelie will accompany you and you will seek out different locations together with the Seelie to get some rewards, it is definitely interesting to see what it will be like.
Finally, Hypostatic Symphony will be an event in which we will face our cube bosses which are empowered, since we can beat them easily in the boss nodes in the map, the devs might have thought that we can face them easily so they amped up the strength by making new moves for them, some desire that these moves will be permanent on the cubes but we will have to see what happens after the event.
Dragonspine Details
For sure there are those who are curious what will Dragonspine be like, unlike Elsa from Frozen, the cold will definitely bother you since you are not an ice princess with powers, joking aside, there's a new mechanic in place which will definitely keep you on your toes, the Temperature System will be in place while you are on Dragonspine, if it gets too cold, you will be frozen or there would be worse consequences, for you to cool off, there will be several areas in which fire is present and you can beat the cold altogether, it goes without saying that bringing Pyro units here will be vital.
There will be areas in which will be blocked but do not fear, you can melt them in which unlocks new areas for you, there are a lot of interesting areas to explore in the Dragonspine zone so you will not be bored quickly by exploring the map, especially with the new systems in place. Not to mention breaking all these ice orbs will get you a hefty reward if you do. Definitely interesting to see more about this patch.
Quests
To see if a character will resonate to you enough that you will roll them (if waifu or husbando factor is not enough), then there will be story quests for both Albedo and Ganyu, these will be also ways to test them out on the battlefield. Albedo's will be available once you have reached AR42 while Ganyu will have her own story quest at 44.
With the release of Dragonspine, there will be quests associated with the place, so be prepared to explore the place more and learn what's so mysterious about the land.
Weapons
Like we have discussed earlier, there will be new weapons when Patch 1.2 arrives. These weapons can be craftable with the proper materials, meaning we have another more grinding stages to go, and as if the weekly bosses are kind to drop their precious prototypes to us, I have not got mine in weeks, but yeah these 4 weapons should be up when the patch drops.
The Festering Desire is also a weapon that you will get while playing the Dragonspine event, this weapon gets stronger as you play the event so make sure that you participate in the event as much as possible.
There are other weapons that we have yet to see such as this claymore, orb, and a polearm that requires the Dragon's Teeth in which it would be wise to say that this dragon would be in the story too. We have a lot of things to uncover in the future so the game has a lot of content to bring us.
Artifacts
Finally! No more thinking about what should be the artifact for our Hydro and Cryo units especially the DPS ones such as Tartaglia, Chongyun and other units that may come in the future. With the new area, comes new domains and these domains will be focused on Cryo and Hydro artifacts.
Since they are the ones who have yet to have a specialized artifact set, gone are the days when you need to improvise and think of a good artifact set for them.
While experimenting is fun and all, there's nothing like stability in your artifact sets, now it all leaves to RNG to give us good rolls, may RNGesus bless you in your future rolls.
Other New Stuff
We did talk about other things that are coming in the game back then correct? Well, it seems like the chat feature, Acquaint Fates per leveled 20,50 and 70 heroes, Auto-play dialogues, auto-collect artifacts among other things are coming as well, it seems like another great QoL and content patch coming soon to us and I can't wait to try it myself.
