After making an announcement on her Twitter account on July 18, 2021, VTuber Kureha Kurono revealed that she will be working with Filipino/Japanese professional Dota 2 player Jun “Bok” Kanehara, who is currently playing offlane for TNC Predator. The collaboration is set to take place on Sunday, July 25, 2021, at 9 p.m. local time in the Philippines. In addition to playing Dota 2 together, Kureha has stated that she will conduct an interview with Bok during the event, which will be broadcast on Kureha's YouTube channel.

Kureha Kurono, a demon-inspired icon, has been livestreaming Dota 2 pub games while conversing with viewers in both English and Japanese on her channel. She also creates original music videos, meme reviews, and collaborations with other artists, among other things. Bok, on the other hand, is a professional Dota 2 player who plays the offlane for TNC Predator, which is widely regarded as one of the best teams in the Southeast Asian region. Many people were taken aback by the announcement, considering Bok doesn't have much of a social media presence.

A virtual YouTuber, also known as a VTuber, is an online entertainer and content creator who performs using a virtual avatar created using computer graphics and motion capture software or technology. It is a digital trend that began in Japan in the mid-2010s and has spread throughout the world. The vast majority of VTubers are Japanese-speaking YouTubers or live streamers who dress in anime-inspired avatars. VTubers such as Kizuna AI, Gawr Gura, Kureha Kurono, and others are among the more than 10,000 who are currently active on the platform as of 2020.

Kureha claims she is interested in learning more about Bok's career as a professional player in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Although Kureha will not be playing Dota 2 for the first time, she is still relatively new to the game, so her discussions with Bok will be beneficial to newcomers. Fans may expect “fun conversations with Kureha and Bok,” according to her.
