Although Diablo 4's June 6 release date is still a few months away, two Open Beta weekends in March will give gamers a sneak peek at the conflict with Lilith's minions. Let's discuss what you must accomplish and when the Open Beta(s) will be available.
You will need a Battle.net account if you don't already have one because both Open Betas will require you to sign in with it. According to Blizzard, if you pre-ordered the game digitally, you should immediately receive access to the Open Beta on the platform you purchased it for. Diablo 4 will run two Open Beta periods in March 2023 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S and X:
The first is for anyone who pre-ordered the game. That Early Access weekend runs from March 17 at 12 p.m. EDT and runs to March 20 at 3 p.m. EDT.
The following weekend, from March 24 at 12 p.m. EDT to March 27 at 3 p.m. EDT, the Open Beta will be available to everyone.
You ought to have an Early Access code if you pre-ordered the game anywhere else. You'll have to take a couple extra steps for that. Choose your platform, enter your Early Access code, then log into Battle.net with your account. That will be all you have to do to access the Open Beta on PC starting on March 17. You'll receive an email on PlayStation or Xbox shortly before the Open Beta with another code you may use to download the beta on the PlayStation or Xbox shop.
During the Open Beta, there will be two co-op options available. You can play a four-player online co-op or a two-player sofa co-op. Only one pre-order is required for couch co-op during the Early Access weekend, but both players must have Battle.net accounts connected to their respective accounts on the platform they're using. All four players must have preordered in order to play online cooperatively over the Early Access weekend.
Your character will only be able to use Barbarian, Rogue, and Sorcerer during the Early Access weekend, out of the five classes available in the complete game. During the Open Beta weekend, the last two classes, Druid and Necromancer, will become available. Your characters can only reach Level 25, however you can make up to 10 different characters on one Battle.net account.
The characters will be destroyed once the Open Beta is over, but progress made during the Early Access weekend will transfer over to the Open Beta weekend but not to the entire game.
There are, however, three Open Beta rewards that will carry over when the full game launches on June 6. They are:
