Healers dominate week 1!

The first week of the regular season saw Estes and Rafaela picked or banned in almost every match (Sunsparks vs Geek Fam being the exception). In the past few seasons, the two-tank meta has been the go-to draft of the teams since the heroes' massive crowd control abilities allow them to control the tempo of the game. This time it seems teams have countered this strategy by simply outlasting them in crucial team fights.

New kids ONIC PH had a strong start.

ONIC PH ended their first week of the regular season as the second seed after two 2-1 victories against the veterans in Ownage and EVOS PH. Making full use of the season meta, they showed an exemplary performance on both Rafaela and Estes. In fact, ONIC PH went undefeated in all four games with a healer.

ONIC PH takes over the standings!

ONIC PH was able to claim the top seed of the MPL-PH Season 4 standings after a convincing 2-0 win against SGD Omega on the first day of the regular season's second week. They will enter the Week 3 with an impressive 75% win rate and a three-game win streak!

GEEK FAM makes ArkAngel bleed

GEEK FAM handed ArkAngel, the defending champions of the MPL-PH, their first 0-2 loss since suffering it from Execration last season. The amazing sweep was made extra-possible by KurtTzy's flawless performance as Hayabusa in Game 1, and Kingpin's Kadita antics in the second.

Lylia Maintains a 100% Pick/Ban Rate

One of the newest heroes seems to be too powerful to be ignored by the participants of the MPL-PH Season 4. Out of 36 games played so far, Lylia has been present in 100% of the drafts. The Little Witch also enjoys an astounding 80% win rate in 15 total games played.

ONIC PH Remains Undefeated

Last week's biggest headline is still this week's most prominent newsmaker. ONIC PH extends its win-streak from an already impressive three to an astounding five after taking down SGD Omega and ArkAngel. After the third week of the regular season, the prodigies are comfortably sitting in the top seed without a spot of defeat on their pristine win-loss record.

The Defending Champions Lay Low

ArkAngel suffered two crucial losses this week from the hands of SGD Omega and ONIC PH. The reigning champions of the MPL-PH are currently one a three-game losing skid that started last week against GEEK FAM. With four more matches left, will Jeffqt4ever's squad be able to fly out of the lower bracket?

X.Borg Burns Week 3!

The latest Fighter to grace the Land of Dawn had its MPL-PH Season 4 debut this week! X.Borg was picked for a total of 11 games in the league's week three and finished with a pretty decent 55% win rate. Meanwhile, ONIC PH's Renzio seems to be a natural pyromaniac as he ends their campaign last week with a flawless 100% win rate in three games with the hero.

Sunsparks delivers ONIC PH's first series loss!

Last season's dark horse has finally evolved into a certified powerhouse as the last game of the week saw Sunsparks ending ONIC PH's six-series win streak after delivering their first series loss of the season. Though their 2-0 victory is still insufficient to claim the top seed, Sunsparks are steadily sitting in the second seed of the standings with an impressive 5-series win streak.

Cignal Ultra is on the brink of elimination.

Bad news for Cignal Ultra fans: the MPL-PH Season 2 champions may not grace the main event of this season. Tets' squad is currently at the bottom of the standings with an abysmal 1-6 win-loss record after seven games. Can Cignal Ultra turn their luck around with two remaining games left?

Marksmen are still a hit-or-miss.

Marksman-centered drafts are still an unstable strategy to run. Just like the past seasons, only Kimmy, who's donning a high ban rate, seems to be the only efficient Marksman in the current meta. Alternatives like Karrie and Granger are still a hit-or-miss, as their win rates suggest, which stand at 40% and 52%, respectively.

Even though ONIC PH still has one game left, while Sunsparks has two more games, the topdogs have mathematically secured their upper bracket and now awaits who will they be up against.

Meanwhile, things are looking grim on the other side of the spectrum. After the sixth and final week of the regular season, only two teams from the bottom four will be given the right to advance further into the playoffs. Some of the most dedicated tank players of the MPL-PH Season 4 tried to redefine X.Borg last week as a support, but only Bren Esports' Ejhay and SGD Omega's Crypzu made it work. It seems like the new Fighter's lack of crowd control abilities and natural durability doesn't make him qualified to be a tank. Can the pros find a workaround as the playoffs approaches?
