Filipino developer Ryle Johnson of OledEye Games has released Flunked, a first-person psychological horror indie game. Now available on itch.io, the game is a 20-minute cinematic adventure horror simulator that can be played on PC.
Flunked is developed using Unreal Engine 5, while the protagonist, Melt, was created with a technology called Metahuman Creator. To make the game immersive through the ears, the developer used Audacity for the sound mixing and BandLab for its music score.
In the game, you’ll play as Melt, a heterochromatic protagonist. As his sister, Trix, has gone missing, he is tasked to find his sister in Dapo, Prangkisa City with the guidance of their Aunt Zillow. His sister’s disappearance comes after the sinking of a cruise ship, the Vacansea, on Christmas Day.
Aside from walking, the game also features a vehicle driving mechanic, giving players another option to get through various areas in the game. However, they need to manoeuvre around the obstacles, like boats, on the highway.
