Mobile Legends Patch Notes 1.8.88 Advanced Server Hero Changes featuring Zhask Experimental Adjustments

The most anticipated June 2024 update of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) game is about to come in the upcoming weeks. The game’s test server is also starting to wrap things up to gradually stabilize the new metagame so that it would be ready for global implementation. The latest test server update is version Patch Notes 1.8.88 Advanced Server. In this update, Zhask received experimental adjustments along with some other heroes that received a few tweaks to make them as balanced as possible if ever the game decided to include them in the next official server update. Here are the details on the significant hero adjustments in Patch Notes 1.8.88 Advanced Server.

1. Zhask Experimental Adjustments

The game hopes to increase the stability of Nightmaric Spawn (including damage and control) and unbind Zhask's connection to Inspire, allowing him to use other Battle Spells.

[Skill 1] (↑)
Removed the first two Basic Attacks. Nightmaric Spawn will now continuously release Death Rays (considered as Basic Attacks, damage frequency no longer affected by Attack Speed).
Slow Effect by Death Rays: up to 60% >> up to 30%
Death Rays Damage: 90 +15% Magic Power >> 60 +20% Magic Power
Mana Cost 100-160 >> 60-90

[Skill 2] (↑)
Skill Revamp: After Zhask deals damage to enemies in the specified direction, the Nightmaric Spawn will sequentially attack and stun enemy heroes hit by him.
Reduced the foreswing time by 40%.

[Ultimate] (↑)
Enhance Nightmaric Spawn on the spot >> Select an area to summon the enhanced Nightmaric Spawn
Mana Cost: 200-400 >> 100-200

These are interesting adjustments to Zhask’s active skills. His skill 1 is now unaffected by Attack Speed so that removes Inspire as a spell option for Zhask. It seems the game is seeing Inspire Zhask as uncompetitive and thus they adjusted his skill 1 along with a skill revamp of his skill 2. Lastly, his ultimate skill cast can now be selected to be summoned in an area not necessarily the one where Zhask is upon activation.

2. Chou buff

Further enhance Chou's performance in the mid game.

[Passive] (↑)
Adjusted the Physical Defense Reduction effect to be applied before increasing Basic Attack Damage.

[Skill 1] (↑)
Increased the dash distance by 20%. Using any two casts of Skill 1 or Skill 2 will activate the enhanced Basic Attack by Passive (already effective in the previous patch).
Cooldown: 11-9s >> 9-7s

It seems the previous adjustments to Chou is working as intended and now, they are adjusting Chou’s viability for mid game. His passive was adjusted so that it will deal more damage while his skill 1 has now an increased dash distance. The cooldown of his first skill was also shortened by 2 seconds.

3. Moskov adjustments

After gathering feedback from various sources, the game decided to reduce the cooldown of Moskov's Skill 2 while maintaining his unique features.

[Passive] (↑)
Restored the effect of Basic Attacks can reduce the cooldown of Skill 2.

[Skill 2] (↓)
Cooldown: 12-9.5s >> 12s at all levels
Stun Duration: 1.5s >> 1.2s

Moskov remains as a top pick in the global server and professional tournaments. Skill 2 is nerfed as the stun duration seems too long along with its lower cooldown in mid to late game and thus, skill 2’s cooldown is now fixed at 12 seconds at all levels. The effect of his passive is restored though which is it can now reduce the cooldown of skill 2 again.

4. Aulus adjustments

Currently, the extra attack damage on Aulus' Basic Attacks from his Passive can affect Turrets and Base, causing him to push way too fast. In this patch, the game fixed this issue and optimized the experience when Aulus casts his Ultimate.

[Passive] (↓)
The extra Physical Damage from Basic Attacks at max stacks of Fighting Spirit no longer works on Turrets and Base.

[Ultimate] (↑)
Cannot be interrupted when casting his Ultimate.

The game didn’t include Aulus’ adjustments yet in the recent official server hotfix. It seems Aulus needs a bit more tweak and thus, this update made his ultimate skill uninterruptible. His passive is nerfed though in order for him not to be too overpowered in terms of destroying Turrets.

5. Nana buff

Increased the benefit gained from hitting with her Skill 2.

[Skill 2] (↑)
Magic Defense Reduction of Transformed Enemies: 25%-35% >> 30%-40%

This is just a quick tweak for Nana. Since the game reduced her raw burst damage, Nana’s damage became underwhelming for a mage hero and thus, her skill 2 is buffed. In order to deal more damage, players need to use skill 2 properly to initiate the combo to benefit from the buffed Magic Defense Reduction effect.

6. Natan nerf

Decreased Natan's mid-late game damage potential.

[Passive] (↓)
Magic Power Bonus: 70% >> 65%
Attack Effect Inherited: 70% >> 65%

[Skill 1] (↓)
Magic Power Bonus: 140% >> 130%

[Skill 2] (↓)
Knockback Damage Magic Power Bonus: 70% >> 65%
Extra Total Magic Power Bonus: 14% >> 13%

Natan has been overperforming in the advanced server after the previous adjustments and thus, the game decided to nerf some of his skills. His passive now inherits lower physical attack and magic power. The bonus damage from his skill 1 and skill 2 is also nerfed.

These are the significant hero adjustments in the latest test server update Patch Notes 1.8.88 Advanced Server. The advanced server is also currently testing the revamped Phoveus along with the newest hero Zhuxin. The next official server update is projected to be a huge one since it is part of the Project NEXT 2024 update so aside from hero adjustments, several items and other battlefield adjustments will really shake up the current metagame.

Stay tuned for more news and updates!
